On May 19, 2017, Anika Alexa Ortiz inspired guests as she gave the keynote speech for Mariposa Women and Family Center's 40th Anniversary.
The law recognizes domestic violence as any behaviors that frighten, intimidate, terrorize, manipulate, hurt, humiliate, blame, injure, or wound someone. It can happen to anyone regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, socio-economic status, and education levels.
